Quickstart guide

Hi there, welcome to MessageCat . Here is a quick start guide to help you familiarize with our SMS client’s portal.

To Register an Account

  • To register an account with MessageCat go to our SIGN UP PAGE

Request Sender ID

Sender ID is a customized name you want the recipient(s) to see when you send SMS.

Here, you can choose what sender name you want the SMS message(s) to come from. The SMS message(s) will not come from a number, but from, for example, your company name, Your Name Etc. In a situation where a Sender ID request is not granted, that means it is not in line with MessageCat T&C.

  • To request New Sender ID, navigate to Sender ID Management  >  Request New Sender ID 

Purchase SMS Units

To send your first SMS, you have to first recharge your SMS Balance.

  • To recharge your account, navigate to Recharge  >  Purchase SMS Plan View Features Purchase Now  >  Select Payment Method  to complete purchase.

Countries / Prices

  • To check available countries and and their prices, go to Coverage / Routing.

Send SMS

To send Quick SMS (less than 100 recipients)

  • Navigate to Bulk SMS  >  Send Quick SMS

To send BULK SMS (more than 100 recipients)

  • Navigate to Bulk SMS  >  Send Bulk SMS

When sending either Quick SMS  or Bulk SMS, only use the Sender ID dropdown, Recipients column and Message box as indicated above. 

  • For any other feature usage ,contact support through Support Ticket

Messages Status

  • To check delivery status of your sent Messages, Navigate to Reports  >  SMS History

Support Ticket

To resolve issues about purchase or general enquiries, use Support Tickets.

  • Navigate to Support Tickets  >  Create New Ticket

Acceptable Use Policy & Obligations !!

MessageCat does not support communication of any unsolicited content (Spam) or inappropriate content, such as, indicatively without restriction, pornographic, hateful and related to drugs or other illegal acts (scam), offensive, immoral, aggressive, libelous or threatening.
 
When sending high volume messages, the listed features below must be added;
  • Sender Identification – Every message you send must clearly identify you as the sender, except in follow-up messages of an ongoing conversation.
  • Opt-Out Language – The initial message that you send to an individual needs to include the following language: “Reply STOP to unsubscribe,” or the equivalent using another standard opt-out keyword, such as STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT. Individuals must have the ability to revoke consent at any time by replying with a standard opt-out keyword.
In the event that a customer violates the terms provided above, MessageCat reserves the right to suspend or discontinue the provided service to the customer. The customer is held solely liable for any costs, expenses or surcharges that may be incurred by MessageCat as a result of the violation of these usage terms.
